Akro-Plastic extends manufacturing capacity in China

However, the existing plant of Akro Engineering Plastics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. does no longer offer enough space to meet domestic demand and therefore the compounder will establish a new plant in Wujiang, Jiangsu.

Initially, the plant will offer an annual manufacturing capacity of 7 kt with two compounding lines and is scheduled to start business in the third quarter of 2010. Project planning and engineering of the compounding lines has been executed by Feddem GmbH & Co. KG from Sinzig, Germany. Further lines will successively be ordered and the plant will be subject to constant expansion.

According to the company, the booming Chinese automotive industry was the reason for the business to increase by 65 % in 2009. For 2010, the company expects a growth rate of 50 - 70 %.
