FLAT HEATING ELEMENTS

Description
Flat heating elements made of silicon nitride are normally rectangular. Various measurements and batch sizes up to our mold diameter of 300 mm can be produced. The special properties and the low mass of ceramic allow fast heating rates, a uniform temperature distribution and high control accuracy. Small heating elements can be operated with very high surface power at short cycle times. In comparison to metallic heaters the surface of ceramic stays very smooth due to its low thermal expansion even when operated with changes in temperature. The high strength of hot-pressed silicon nitride guarantees high stress resistance (e.g. with high pressure loads) and excellent wear resistance. We provide flat heating elements for operating in the air at temperatures up to 500 C°. Temperatures up to 1000 C° (if required) could be achieved by developing specific technical solutions.

Customized design
Our in-house designs make any modification in size, configuration, or performance simple and convenient. Mounting-bracket holes and bores for temperature sensors can be included. Laser-cut vacuum grooves can be added as well. Our flat heating elements come already flat ground, however they can be ground further up to a flatness of < 10 μm to meet specific requirements. A variety of shapes formed to the contour of the product or tool to be heated are possible as well. Furthermore, our ceramic heating conductor with its customized design allows the integration of several heating zones. Devices to compensate for heat loss and an internal RTD for temperature measurement can be easily built in.

GLOW IGNITERS

Description

Glow igniters made of silicon nitride are normally rectangular in shape. Within our mold diameter of up to 300mm various dimensions and batch sizes are possible. These igniters have a hot zone range of operation up to 1000 °C and a cold zone in the contact area. Our glow igniters have been mass produced for many years. They can be configured for different line voltages and can be operated without a controller.
The special properties and low mass of the ceramic material allow fast heating rates, uniform temperature distribution and outstanding precision in control. As long as the operating instructions (Download) are followed, the glow igniters will work efficiently for years without wear.

Customized design
Our in-house designs make any modification in size, configuration, or performance simple and convenient. Holes for temperature sensors can be included. The glow igniters can be equipped with sockets or protective tubes (see accessories). The electrical output power can be adjusted according to the specifications of your furnace assembly (e.g. fan) and of the fuel used.

HEATING RINGS

Description
Ceramic heating rings made of silicon nitride can be produced with an outer diameter of up to 300 mm.
A typical extent of the rings is 5 mm. The good thermal conduction and the low thermal mass of the ceramic material allow extremely fast heating rates, a uniform temperature distribution and high control accuracy. The high strength of hot-pressed silicon nitride guarantees high stress resistance and excellent wear resistance at short processing times. We provide heating rings for operating in the open air at temperatures up to 500 C°. Higher temperatures (if required) could be achieved by developing specific technical solutions.

Customized design
Our in-house designs make any modification in size (inner and outer diameter) or performance simple and convenient. Mounting-bracket holes and openings for temperature regulation can be added to the design. Our heating rings come already flat ground, however they can be ground further up to a flatness of < 10 μm to meet specific requirements. A variety of shapes formed to the contour of the product or tool to be heated are possible as well.

RADIANT HEATERS

Description
Radiant heaters made of silicon nitride are normally rectangular. Various dimensions and batch sizes up to our die diameter of 300 mm can be produced. These heaters have a hot zone with a range of operation up to 1000 °C and a cold zone in the contact area. For a range of operation up to 500 °C large flat heating elements without a cold zone can be supplied. The special properties and low mass of the ceramic material allow fast heating rates, uniform temperature distribution and outstanding precision in control.
The high emissivity and wide emission spectrum of thermal radiation make the ceramic material, which is manufactured out of a nearly black silicon nitride, an ideal radiant heater. A radiation power of 15 W/cm² at 1000 °C can be reached.

Customized design
Our in-house designs make any modification in size, configuration, or performance simple and convenient. Holes for temperature measurement can be included. Large heating areas can be achieved by assembling several radiant heaters. For reaching a uniform temperature distribution or desired temperature areas,
the power input can be adjusted to the heat radiation. For operating in high vacuum or inert gas at up to
1000 °C a purpose-built and well-tested pin contact can be supplied.
