Kayabrid

Kayabrid is a maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (PP-g-MAH) that shows a unique combination of high molecular weight and high content of grafted MAH. With such a synergy of properties, Kayabrid improves the mechanical resistance of composite materials, and can be added to the compound at very low concentrations. Kayabrid is a sustainable product due to its low content of free MAH, which leads to low VOC emissions during processing.

Kayabrid applications span from Glass (or Carbon) Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene (GFRPP, CFRPP), Wood-Plastic Composites (WPC), Halogen Free Flame Retardant (HFFR) cables, polymer alloys (nylon/PP, PP/PLA), adhesion of polymer to glass, paper, steel (multi-layer films) and many more.

Expancel® Microspheres

3D, matting, anti-slip and more - Surface effects by Expancel Microspheres

Are you looking for that perfect look or feel? Expancel is used as a blowing agent or lightweight filler in a number of applications to create different surface effects.

Expancel is available in different particle sizes. A small particle size gives a smoother surface while a larger size makes it rougher.

There will be different effects depending on whether you expand the microspheres in the matrix or if you add already expanded spheres.

Examples of surface effects:

In printing ink Expancel can be used for 3D effects, matting, peach or suede look.
Coated paper and board can obtain a soft touch feeling and anti-slip properties.
In artificial leather you can achieve suede and nubuck effects and genuine leather will attain a soft touch feeling.
Shoe soles and paint will both receive a matt surface.

Expancel® Microspheres

Expancel - The foaming agent with a nice and regular foam structure.

Expancel unexpanded microspheres are foaming agents with a closed and uniform cell structure, giving a controlled foam.

Expancel Microspheres have a shell that encapsulates the gas, which gives certain benefits compared to chemical foaming agents. With our unexpanded microspheres (Expancel DU, WU, SL and MB) you will get a controlled foam with a fine and regular foam structure. This is especially true in low viscous systems.

Superior physical properties with peroxide curing

Our Trigonox® and Perkadox® organic peroxides are a necessary and vital component in the manufacture of elastomeric products. Automotive parts, golf ball cores, footwear soles, adhesive tapes, wire & cable and foamed products (rubber or thermoplastic) are examples of everyday products that use our organic peroxides. Compared to sulfur vulcanization, organic peroxide cured elastomers exhibit superior physical properties such as low compression set, improved heat resistance, and rapid vulcanization without reversion.

Expancel® Microspheres

Expancel expandable microspheres - A multi-performance additive with endless possibilities

The basics of our microspheres are that they are expandable and very lightweight. This means that they are used both as blowing agents and lightweight fillers.

Expancel expandable microspheres are very small and consist of a shell encapsulating a gas. You can heat them, which will result in an expansion with a dramatic increase in volume. We have grades that expand at temperatures ranging from 80 to 250°C.

The unexpanded versions are mainly used as foaming agents. Their capacity to expand, together with a unique and uniform cell structure, gives a number of benefits. The expanded forms have a very low density and are used as lightweight fillers. Apart from reducing your costs they will also give different effects to the end products.

We deliver our microspheres in seven different forms, all highly sophisticated and developed for different purposes:
