Exothermic Foaming Agents - UNIFOAM AZ / UNIFOAM MB
Hebron has a wide range of exothermic foaming agents based on the finest quality Azodicarbonamide (ADCA). They can be used in several industries, normally for weight reduction purposes, but also for acoustic and thermal insulation or impact protection. Some examples of final products are shoes soles, floor and wall coverings, pipes and profiles, synthetic leather or light plastic-made products.
Our UNIFOAM AZ ADCA is mainly used to foam PVC, rubber, PE, PP, EVA and EPDM. Hebron offers different grades in the following formats:
UNIFOAM AZ Standard ADCA: pure Azodicarbonamide powder.
UNIFOAM AZ Ultra : Azodicarbonamide powder, with a small percentage of additives to maintain texture homogeneity and reduce dust production. These products are much suitable for plastisols (confering less viscosity).
UNIFOAM AZ Mix Grades : Modified Azodicarbonamide adjusted to the customer production process temperature and decomposition speed.
UNIFOAM MB Grades: Azodicarbonamide masterbatch in pellets, using the most suitable carrier and additives according to the customer needs. It features dust-free handling and high precision in the dosing of the foaming agent. Our manufacturing technology yields very even formulations even at high foaming agent loads.
Hebron ENDOFOAM® range consists of a series of endothermic foaming agents based on inorganic and organic salts. On account of our high experience in foaming agent masterbatch production, as well as our controlled manufacturing procedures, Hebron can provide high product quality that can be customized according to customer needs.
Endothermic foaming agents are innocuous and safe, and they allow injection shorter cycle times, smoother surface in the final product and smaller cells vs. exothermic foaming agents in some applications like Extrusion and Injection. Their endothermic decomposition behaviour results in easier and more controlled foaming in some production processes.
Our ENDOFOAM® grades can be supplied as powder mix or masterbatch (encapsulated formulation containing not only foaming agent in a resin carrier but also some other additives). Our masterbatch manufacturing process allows high foaming agent loads (above 50%) while keeping constant quality.
The main applications of our ENDOFOAM® grades are in PP parts injection moulding, thin wall packaging, food packaging and transit packaging like pallets, boxes and containers.
We have also developed a series of hybrid endo-exo foaming agents for particular uses in rigid PVC and PP foaming like extruded pipes and profiles. For other applications like WPC we can also develop custom made products. Please consult us.
Hebron manufactures several additives to be used in plastic formulations:
ESBO – Epoxidized Soy Bean Oil – EPOVINSTAB H-800 D
ESBO is a product obtained from soy, a renewable resource. It is used as an alternative plasticizer and co-stabilizer additive in PVC formulations for articles in contact with food, toys and pharmaceutical packaging, apart from other PVC general uses.
Our EPOVINSTAB H-800 D is a plasticizer and co-stabilizer of PVC but also improves its UV stability. Furthermore it can be used as a pigment dispersant for inks and paints and as a raw material for polyols production.
Heat stabilizers prevent the thermal degradation of PVC during its processing.
Our VINSTAB grades are environmental friendly alternatives, such as Calcium-Zinc and Barium-Zinc types.
METALLIC SOAPS (Stearates)
Hebron offers a variety of Stearate grades which can be used as additives to improve plastic resin properties:
Standard Zinc Stearate: It is mainly used as a lubricant and release agent for polyolefines and PVC Zinc Stearate H50F: it is a stearate with a smaller particle size. It is recommended in varnishes and lacquers for a better sanding. Magnesium Stearate: it is mainly used as a lubricant for thermoplastics. Calcium Stearate: it is used as an internal lubricant in plastic industry, especially for PVC. It can be also used as an anti-caking agent.
Hebron, a 100% subsidiary of Otsuka Chemical Company Ltd, commercializes POTICON® grades, which are a series of compounds of plastic resin reinforced with microfibers of a Potasium Titanate called TISMO®, by means of a proprietary technology developed by our mother company.
These microfibers form a 3D network which confers reinforcement at microscopic level. The results are a high dimensional stability, a very low abrasive behavior and good sliding effect due to its superior smooth surface compared to other reinforcement fibers. Due to the small size of the fibers it especially suitable for high functional parts requiring dimensional accuracy and strength in good balance.
POTICON® compounds show very good tribological properties with superior friction and abrasion resistance and very good sliding properties without lubricants needed. It has a very low friction effect to aluminum and other metal counterparts as well as other plastic parts.
The main applications of use are gears, bearings, control cables, clutches and other where sliding properties are needed.
Some POTICON® grades can also be formulated to meet high thermal resistance, good reflectance of white light and resistance to ageing (whiteness), which makes them useful to manufacture some LED parts.

DENTALL WK is a microscopic potassium titanate that can be used as reinforcement filler. It is covered with a nanometer-thin conductive layer. DENTALL WK has stable and homogeneous conductivity under diverse environmental exposures. Our products offer a wide range of conductivity which is consistent and easy to control.
DENTALL can provide conductive properties to paints, primers for plastic parts and plastic compounds and formulations and is specially used for white and pale colour formulations due to its high whiteness.
The second representative product is TISMO. It is a microscopic potassium titanate fiber used for reinforcement. There are three most important features which characterize its uniqueness: micro fine size, high strength and low hardness.
The diameter of TISMO is below 1 micrometer and length is in the range of 10-20 micrometers. Although TISMO fiber is significantly smaller than glass fibers, its tensile strength and tensile modulus are significantly bigger.
TISMO Mohs hardness is lower compared to glass or carbon fibers. Our product is a soft reinforcing material compared to the hardness of softer metals like aluminum. This softness character results in TISMO fibers being less abrasive effect on metallic parts in case of direct contact. This makes plastic compounds reinforced with TISMO as suitable candidates for metal parts substitution in automotive or electric/electronic devices with sliding parts.

SPB®-100 is a highly efficient halogen-free flame retardant. It is used as an additive for epoxy resins and polycarbonates, as well as other engineering and high performance polymers. SPB®-100 shows a great stability at high temperatures and a predominant resistance to hydrolysis due to its sterically protected, highly packed molecule. Its main uses are in high value-added products for transportation, electric & electronic and medical devices applications.
RUVA®-93 is a reactive UV-A protective agent that can be copolymerized with acrylic and styrenic monomers. It integrates in the polymer chain, so it does not bleed out to the resin surface, shows no transpiration effect at high temperatures. Furthermore, it cannot be extracted by water, acid or base solutions, alcohols, solvents or oils. RUVA®-93 provides excellent and time durable stability against UV-A radiation to end plastic products like thin films, fibers, inks or coatings.
3,5-Dimethyl Pyrazole (3,5-DMP) is a blocking agent for Isocyanates, that can be used in the manufacturing of 1-component Polyurethane systems. Unlike other alternative blocking agents like MEKO or Caprolactam, 3,5-DMP features a low unblocking temperature (110-120 ºC) which helps in keeping very good stability and lower yellowing/ageing for the end product. This is useful for end applications which are sensitive to temperature like coatings, etc.
