ASCO presents its new dry ice blasting machine at K 2016

ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE LTD is always striving to optimise its ASCOJET dry ice blasting technology especially with regard to optimal use in the plastics and rubber industry. With this in mind, ASCO presents its new dry ice blasting machine ASCOJET 608 at K 2016 in Duesseldorf (hall 1 / CO2) for the first time ever to the visitors.

The ASCOJET 608 is the smallest and most handy dry ice blasting unit in the ASCO portfolio. The combination of high cleaning performance with low compressed air consumption guarantees a low noise level and characterises the new blasting unit. Thanks to the integrated pellet grinder, the ASCOJET 608 allows blasting with finest ice particles which guarantees an even more gentle cleaning of molds and surfaces. Further advantages are given by the vertically adjustable handle as well as in the integrated grounding roll. The grounding roll allows a safe use while dry ice blasting. The new and modern frame design as well as the self-explanatory handling are further benefits. Needless to say that the new device will be presented on the ASCOJET booth.

The launch of the ASCOJET 608 proves once more ASCO`s competence in the field of CO2 and dry ice of which Managing Director Marco Pellegrino is convinced. "Decades of experience in the areas of innovation and application knowledge within a wide range of industrial sectors, including the plastics and rubber industry, are covered by ASCO´s competence in the field of dry ice cleaning. ASCO offers the right dry ice device for every application. ASCOJET not only reduces costs but also meets the high quality standards for cleaning and surface preparation in the field of injection molding and mold cleaning, "says Pellegrino.

Visit ASCO at K 2016 in Duesseldorf (hall 1, CO2) and convince yourself personally of the cleaning power of the ASCOJET line.

Product launch of ASCO Dry Ice Pelletizer P28

ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE LTD launches the ASCO Dry Ice Pelletizer P28 as an optimised follow-up model of the ASCO Dry Ice Pelletizer A240P. The compact and powerful new machine operates with a production capacity of up to 280 kg/h (617 lbs/h). This allows to convert liquid CO2 quickly and economically into dry ice pellets.

The ASCO Dry Ice Pelletizer P28 combines the entire technical know-how in the wide field of dry ice production in recent years. Users of the new ASCO device can cover their need of dry ice autonomously by producing dry ice pellets in different sizes (3, 10 and 16 mm / 1/3, 3/8 and 5/8 in) promptly on site.

The ASCO Dry Ice Pelletizer P28 scores with numerous improvements compared to its forerunner: The new, self-explanatory Siemens HMI KTP 700, containing a 7 inch multi-touch screen, guarantees an intuitive handling. The main task of the ASCO engineering team consisted in providing easier and lower maintenance not least to reduce maintenance costs. This has been achieved with the development of a new press chamber made of aluminum and the option of a rotatable discharge unit. All of these innovations including a cost-saving design result in higher user-friendliness and lower service needs which offer more efficient production processes. The newest addition to the ASCO product line starts production automatically and stops once the desired amount of dry ice is reached – an advantage which is offered by all ASCO Dry Ice Pelletizers. Shortest start-up time and a low noise level are an added bonus.

Managing Director Marco Pellegrino adds: "The new ASCO Dry Ice Pelletizer P28 is yet another reliable and productive option in choosing the right machine for each requirement. For decades, ASCO is the right address when it comes to build up or extend an in-house dry ice production. Extensive industry know-how and a self-contained CO2 product range enable all-in service for our customers, true to our credo "All about CO2"."

Dry ice pellets are used in different industries such as transport cooling, refrigeration of food, catering purpose as well as dry ice blasting. An in-house dry ice production offers lots of advantages such as a cost-effective just-in-time production, a reproducible quality, hardly logistical effort, efficient cleaning results for dry ice blasting and less dry ice loss due to sublimation. The independence from an external supplier provides not only a higher quality and flexibility in the daily working process but also shorter production downtimes and therefore greater cost-effectiveness.

ASCO´s new appearance

Last year, Swiss ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE LTD, headquartered in Romanshorn, celebrated its 40th anniversary. This milestone as well as some major structural business changes in recent years have been used as an opportunity to modernise ASCO´s visual market presence.

The new ASCO corporate design was designed in close cooperation with creative minds. The modern CI/CD including a new logo and a user-friendly website should make all positive changes in recent years outwardly visible.

Continuous structural changes
ASCO CEO Marco Pellegrino set the frame conditions for the visual renewal and explains: "ASCO is an established company with many long-term customers. We felt it was very important to combine the values and the fact of high recognition of our existing appearance with the new features and innovations of the last years. The more modern appearance should represent our enhanced strategy as well as our increased competences on the wide field of CO2 applications.”
Here, to mention in particular the integration of the business units for the construction of plants for the production and recovery of CO2 and dry ice technology of BUSE Gastek GmbH & Co. KG in 2014. Thanks to this merger, strengths were pooled efficiently and the product portfolio was expanded, especially in the complex field of CO2 recovery.

New logo
The new logo is still blue and represents the company´s existing values and skills optimally. ASCO's credo "All about CO2" has been integrated as an inherent part into the logo because it says all customers need to know: ASCO is exclusively dedicated to this type of gas in all its facets and variations. Three cross-pieces in different shades of blue set a discreet design element and represent the three states of carbon dioxide: solid, liquid and gaseous.

Our message
"The message to our customers and all interested parties is very clear: We do have a new appearance but our values remain the same. These visual changes should only reflect our company´s transformation over the years including our extended product portfolio. Thus, our appearance is as up to date as our technologies, " Pellegrino adds.

A cool way to increase productivity and quality:

Efficient cleaning of moulds and tools is becoming increasingly important, not only to improve quality and productivity but also to reduce costs by minimising wear of moulds and tools and avoiding shut-down time. With its ASCOJET dry ice blasting technology, Swiss company ASCO CARBON DIOXIDE LTD offers a powerful but gentle cleaning method to clean all kind of moulds and tools (e.g. plastic injection moulds, moulds for PU-production, ingot moulds, core boxes etc.). ASCO specialises in integrating dry ice blasting into the daily work process and already many companies in the plastic and foundry sector have benefitted from this experience.

This innovative cleaning method offers the following advantages:

- Gentle: The surfaces of the moulds and tools are not damaged or altered. The edges and corners remain intact and the product quality is improved.

- No dismantling: ASCOJET Dry Ice Blasting can be applied directly onto the production plant. The forms do not need to be removed or cooled down allowing virtually continuous production and avoiding expensive shut-down time. This way the cleaning process can easily be integrated as a fixed part of the production process.

- No secondary waste: The blasting material, dry ice (100 % CO2), turns to gas as soon as it hits the surface. Thus, there is no blasting material or chemical substances to be disposed of. Not least, work conditions are improved because dry ice blasting does not charge the staff with additional dust contrary to sand or granular blasting.

- Environmentally friendly: As no secondary waste is caused and no solvents or other chemical substances are used, ASCOJET dry ice blasting is an environmentally friendly cleaning method.

- Dry: As this blasting system leaves a dry surface, there is no there is no danger of corrosion or that electrical components could be damaged.
