The smallest one was the pioneer: With a comprehensive new design, the successful CX line from KraussMaffei previously offered enormous efficiency improvements with up to 1600 kN clamping force. At K 2016 in Düsseldorf, the larger machines will now follow with clamping force ranging from 2000 to 4200 kN. (October 19 to 26, 2016, Hall 15, Booths B27/C24/C27/D24). Two additional core themes: Functional integration into the machine housing for compact dimensions and maximum flexibility for technologies such as FiberForm.

GXW ColorForm: New total package for perfect high-gloss surfaces

With the ColorForm process, KraussMaffei has revolutionized the manufacturing of components with a high-gloss finish. The technology combines injection molding and reaction process machinery and enables fully automated manufacturing in a one-step production cycle. Previously, systems have been configured individually and on a project-related basis. Now, with the GXW 650-2000 ColorForm, KraussMaffei will present a new, compact machine at K 2016 in Düsseldorf (October 19 to 26, 2016, Hall 15, Booths B24/C24/C27/D24) in which all components for processing the paint finishing system are completely integrated. Especially for new users, this makes the introduction into the one-shot process easier.

Complex technologies have to be easy to operate to become accepted – for example when producing fiber-reinforced lightweight components. KraussMaffei has perfected its FiberForm process even further and will present a close-to-production manufacturing cell at the K 2016 trade show in Düsseldorf, where visitors can observe the manufacturing of a prototype component for the automotive industry (October 19 - 26, 2016, Hall 15, Booths B27/C24/C27/D24).

T-RTM: The perfect combination

Continuous fibers, short cycle times, welding- and recycling-capability. KraussMaffei's T-RTM procedure unites the benefits of reaction process machinery, thermoplastic materials and shaping in the transfer molding procedure (resin transfer molding, RTM) – and is thus the perfect combination for modern lightweight construction. At K 2016 in Düsseldorf (October 19 to 26, Hall 15, Booth B27/C24/C27/D24), KraussMaffei will be demonstrating the production of an automotive fiber compound structural component with metal inlays under series production conditions. Frames for the roof shell of the Roding Roadster R1 sports car will be created on the exhibition booth several times a day.

Polyurethane molds stay sealed

For polyurethane back-foaming, it is crucial to effectively seal off the process in the mold, while still enabling targeted bleeding. KraussMaffei Reaction Process Machinery will present a new sealing system at K 2016 which meets these requirements perfectly. (October 19 to 26, Hall 15, Booths B27/C24/C27/D24) The SealStar is completely inflatable and therefore ensures more secure and efficient sealing in corners and connection areas than previous systems. Furthermore, it is cost-effective in manufacturing, can be used in a variety of applications and replaced quickly without requiring tools. The new SealStar was developed by the division tooling technologies of the KraussMaffei site in Georgsmarienhütte.
