NonWood Competence Leitz

Competence in processing „Non-wood“ products

Leitz will present the following tool systems at fair K in Düsseldorf:

Tools for plastic window and door production

Modern plastic window profiles place high demands on sawblade cut quality and lifetime because of the use of high-quality surface coatings and fiberglass reinforced plastics. At the fair K in Düsseldorf Leitz presents a diamond tipped sawblade meeting all these requirements. This sawblade is available in 6 diameters and field trails have shown that after 2,000 cuts this innovative sawblade is more economical than a tungsten carbide tipped sawblade.

“Transparent” result when cutting acrylic glass with “GlossCut”

Acryl is a material, frequently used in modern furniture fittings. Achieving transparent results when machining this material in one step and without the need for additional finish polishing, high precision tools with low tolerance are essential in terms of run-out, concentricity and axial eccentricity. The ‘GlossCut’ sawblade has the characteristics to meet this objective as have MKD (monocrystalline diamond) tipped routers and drills because of their unique cutting geometry. Visit our stand for more information about machining various plastic panels and profiles using sawblades and routers.

Chip forming machining of insulating materials - how does that work?

Saving energy is of ever increasing importance. There are many insulating materials on the market: polystyrene, polyurethane, mineral wool and wood fibres and Leitz has the knowledge of the use and applications for cutting tools for all these materials. We will show machining of ExPS (extruded polystyrene) on the Leitz stand.

Leitz GlossCut sawblade

GlossCut sawblade – Brilliant outlooks for processing perspex

Transparent cutting surfaces

With the development of the Leitz GlossCut sawblades it is now possible to create a scratch and tear free cut quality in transparent thermoplastics such as PMMA (acrylic glass) and polycarbonate (PC). Excellent results are also achieved in duromers, plastic/aluminium composites and wood derived materials.

Technology

The high cut quality is achieved by specifically developed tooth geometry to minimise the tooth marks. As well as the increase in cut quality, noise levels are reduced by up to 4 dB(A) by use of vibration damping laser ornaments.

Application

GlossCut sawblades are used on table and panel sizing saws with or without scoring saws, vertical panel sizing saws and double trim saws running against the feed both top and bottom.

Leading through increased efficiency

The excellent cut quality of GlossCut sawblades is a must for those who want to raise the quality of workpieces machined from transparent thermoplastics to gloss quality with little additional costs. The finish cut quality of the cut surfaces of coated wood derived materials is also improved with GlossCut sawblades used with a scoring saw. Previous secondary machining to the workpiece such as additional machining to the cut edges before polishing or flaming is eliminated.

Greater efficiency from increased productivity, a more reliable production process, environmentally friendly noise reduction and reduced dust are the significant customer benefits achieved with the Leitz Glosscut sawblade.
