While solutions based on single screw extruders have dominated significant portions of such world, the use of corotating twin screw extruders - as far as we could experience ourselves - has continuously been growing in connection with critical material recycling (e.g.: massive extraction of fumes, intimate blending of various type/grade polymers) and with desired compounding capabilities resulting in higher value products. A peculiar segment where Comac's special corotating twin screw extruders have found an interesting field of application is represented by dryerless solutions for PET flake recycling into semifinished products (e.g. thermoformable foil, fibers, yarn) or regenerated pellets.
