ADMER™

The Mitsui Chemicals Group proudly presents ADMER™ adhesive resins. Defining market standards in terms of quality - THE missing link for your coextruded multilayer innovations!

ADMER™ adhesive resins are modified polyolefins with functional groups, designed to bond to a variety of polyolefins, ionomers, polyamides, ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH), PET, polycarbonates and metals. They serve as tie layers in coextruded multilayer applications such as films, tubes, bottles, sheets, pipes, tanks and others and, thus, help to combine the excellent properties of different materials, such as gas barrier resins and moisture barrier resins. Processing methods are e.g. blown film, cast film, blow moulding, extrusion coating, sheet, tube or pipe processing.

When coextruded with a gas barrier into bottles, tubes, sheets or films these products are the ideal solution for food packagings that are in need of barriers against oxygen, flavour, odour and moisture.

APEL™ is a cyclo olefin copolymer (COC) that integrates the performance of polyolefin resins and that of amorphous resins. With the highest refractive index among the amorphous polyolefins, APEL™ cyclo olefin copolymer is low in optical anisotropy and essentially low in birefringence. This makes it ideal for optical plastic lenses. With excellent moisture-proof properties, resistance to chemicals, and non-attachment characteristics, APEL™ cyclo olefin copolymer is also used for medical packaging material. The average molecular weight of HI-ZEX MILLION™, ranging from 500,000 to 6,000,000, is incomparably greater than the ordinary polyethylene. Because of the its excellent properties, HI-ZEX MILLION™ is used in various fields ; an electronic material, industrial material, medical equipment, and food manufacturing, etc. HI-ZEX MILLION™’s density of 930-950kg/m3, is one of the lowest among engineering resins, can decrease the weight of the product. Furthermore, since HI-ZEX MILLION™ does not absorb moisture, HI-ZEX MILLION™ is not subject to swelling or hydrolysis and preliminary-drying is unnecessary before molding. HI-ZEX MILLION™ has a broad range of a grade lineup, including hygienic safety grades conforming to FDA specifications, to meet varied needs.

Lucant™

LUCANT is an ethylene/α-olefin oligomer. It is a hydrocarbon-based synthetic oil containing no polar group. The synthetic oil having this structure is a unique product commercialized by Mitsui Chemicals for the first time in the world.
LUCANT as a base oil or a viscosity modifier contributes to an improvement in the functions of the lubricants that are required to have heat resistance and low-temperature resistance.
LUCANT as an additive to rubbers, resins, paints, etc. gives new functions such as processability, flexibility, heat resistance, low-temperature properties, sliding properties and defoaming properties, among other properties.

Milastomer™

Milastomer™, a vulcanized thermoplastic elastomer (TPV), developed using resin and synthetic rubber technology of Mitsui Chemicals. The thermoplastic elastomer is derived from olefin-based rubber and olefin-based resin.

There are various grades of the elastomer available, ranging from flexible grades like vulcanized rubber to semi hard grades such as low density polyethylene. Numerous grades are available with unique characteristics to suit individual applications. The thermoplastic elastomer does not require compounding or vulcanization processes like rubber. Similar to a general purpose resin, it can be molded and the natural grade can also be easily colored.

TPX™,

TPX™ is a 4-methylpentene-1-based olefin copolymer.
TPX™ has a unique molecular structure. Although TPX™ is a crystalline olefin polymer, it shows transparency. Because of its excellent heat-resistance, release property and chemical resistance, TPX™ is used for industrial materials, including mandrels and sheaths in the manufacture of high-pressure rubber hose, mold cups to create LED light and other applications such as release film on FPC manufacturing process and release paper in the manufacture of synthetic leather. Furthermore, TPX™ possesses a lowest density among thermoplastic polymers and then provides the molded articles with lower weight. This leads to reduce the environmental load for transportation. It is also noted that TPX™ is a halogen-free polymer denoted as environmentally-friendly material. TPX™ is also used for food-related applications such as food wraps, food preservation packs, baking carton and microwave oven tableware.
