We recycle PET without any drop-offs in quality!

The recycling of high-quality raw materials such as PET bottles, is a global topic.

Our high-tech systems – already established on the market under the brand name OHL for over 10 years – from which used PET bottles are turned into highest quality pellets for the manufacturing of new bottles suitable for the food industry are very interesting for the PET processor. But also in other segments, for example in retail and politics, it is becoming increasingly more important to effectively collect, treat and reintroduce products made from rare and therefore expensive raw materials into the use cycle with a minimal loss of value.

Are you already familiar with the "OHL Process"?

The mature technology of our systems mainly consists of the process steps sorting, washing, extruding and post-condensation. The method known as the "OHL Process" generates pellets suitable for use in the food industry from hot-washed PET bottles (extracted from sorted, washed and crushed PET bottles) with precisely defined material properties in terms of IV (intrinsic viscosity/material viscosity) and has been installed across the globe.

The high material quality demanded by the processors (e. g. an acetaldehyde content < 1 ppm) is ensured with the OHL process. Certification in accordance with EFSA (European Food Safety Agency), FDA (Food and Drug Administration/USA) and global brand owners are convincing reasons for our customers to use our systems.

Sustainability is no magic act, but is necessary and very important to us!

Further advantages of our systems are the convincing process security at low energy consumption and the resulting inexpensive production costs.

Through the reintroduction of the valuable raw material to the manufacturing process and the accompanying protection of environment and resources, our customers are provided with a further decisive economic advantage: the use of recyclable material instead of virgin material; And this without any curtailment in the product quality!

SOMOS® D series dry air generator...

...work in a stationary manner according to the rotary process.

Drying systems combining one or several correspondingly equipped hoppers, meeting the highest requirements on throughput, drying quality and energy saving are created in line with the individual manufacturing environment.

In up to 12 connected drying hoppers drying of the most diverse hygroscopic plastic pellets and regrind is possible. An optimal air distribution ensures even drying results.

The use of the SOMOS® D series dry air generator is not limited to the drying of special plastics. It is suitable for almost all pellets and regrind with high demands on the processing moisture.

SOMOS® D series dry air dryers distinguish themselves through the following special features:

Material is dried with heated dry air
Constant low dew point of -35°C
Optimal air distribution for even drying results
Dry air volume between 100 m³/hr and 1,400 m³/hr possible with a rotator; higher volumes possible through the connection of several rotators
Drying temperature 60°C to 140°C (standard version)
Drying temperatures up to 200°C (high-temperature version) and lower than 60°C (low temperature version) are possible
Automatic LoadAdapationProcess (ALAV): Energy saving through automatic adaptation of the dry air volume to the material throughput
Super SOMOS®: Minimal energy requirement during the regeneration of the drying agent through automatic, moisture-dependent drying regulation
Simple installation and commissioning
Easy cleaning and maintenance
User-friendly touch-screen microprocessor control with automatic throughput-dependent optimization of the drying parameters

SOMOS® GRAMIX stands for...

...GRAvimetric dosing MIXing of free-flowing (plastic) materials.

The GRAMIX dosing device is designed for continuous gravimetric dosing and mixing of free-flowing plastic pellets, whereby a reproducible mixture of materials is created in line with a selected recipe.

Bulk material fluctuations of the dosing material have a significant influence on the dosing precision. It is precisely here that the gravimetric dosing offers advantages since it automatically regulates these fluctuations. A constant measuring of the dosing material weight and the continuous target/actual value comparison in the control ensure a speed regulation of the discharging screw conveyor in cases of variations ("loss in weight" principle).

The signal coupling on the associated extruder control ensures a recognition of a jump in the throughput and an optimization of the control behavior.
