DORNIER film stretching plants
Lindauer DORNIER GmbH was founded in 1950. The company first manufactured shuttle looms and components for textile finishing. These were mainly textile finishing machines and stenter frame dryers. In the course of the years other applications such as cardboard and construction board dryers sprang up. In 1955, with the advent of stretchable polymers such as polypropylene and polyester, Lindauer DORNIER GmbH entered the business of film stretching machines with a modified stenter. In more than 60 years this business has risen steadily. Meanwhile, DORNIER has evolved from a component manufacturer to a plant manufacturer for film stretching machines. DORNIER provides complete lines for all common film types such as polypropylene, polyester and polyamide. However, DORNIER plants process also more special polymers like polystyrene, PVC, polyethylene, polyethylene naphtalenes and many more. Of course, components are also produced and provided according to customer request.
The films produced by the plants are extremely versatile in use. The range of applications comprises simple and complex multi-layer packaging films with high demands as to barrier properties, printability as well as processability on modern packing machines. Films for extremely sophisticated technical applications such as capacitors, flat screens and photovoltaic systems are produced by the plants as well as extremely thin tapes and spangles for the textile industry. Special films with network-type geometry are used as geotextiles in road and rail construction or as membranes in modern battery applications. Known applications are furthermore X-ray films and magnetic tapes for data back-up.
Our product range, in-house designed and produced, comprises all main components of film stretching plants. Elements not manufactured by DORNIER are purchased from well-known suppliers, mostly from Germany. In-house produced components are the single-screw extruders up to a diameter of 300 mm, polymer filters and melt pipes, casting units, longitudinal stretching modules, coating facilities, the traverse stretching modules and take-up devices. The complete raw material preparation is designed and constructed by DORNIER, main components for storage, transport and dosage for the polymer chips are bought from the well-known specialists. The same applies for waste processing and winders. Grinders and recycling plants are included into the overall concept of film production plants and designed and supplied, if required. DORNIER, with its engineering team, is also able to handle turnkey projects that comprise, in addition to the film producing plant, downstream processes like making-up, finishing and packaging.
An experienced team of engineers, electronics technicians, assembly supervisors and start-up engineers ensure, together with the project managers from sales, a professional project management and commissioning of the plants worldwide.
DORNIER film stretching plants as well as the single components are composed, where available, product- and customer-specifically from a modular system. Missing components are conceived and produced in-house or purchased from renowned suppliers.
DORNIER manufactures exclusively „Made in Germany“ in the two plants Lindau and Esseratsweiler. Accessories and aggregates are purchased or commissioned from well-known suppliers. High quality standards are applied as to products and suppliers on the same level of performance that we guarantee for our own products. DORNIER products and plants are worldwide known for their quality and reliability standards. High availability, productivity and flexibility with short downtimes and maintenance costs are characteristic for DORNIER plants.
