WET GRINDING TECHNOLOGY

The technology development for the size reduction is oriented towards the wet grinding for which PREVIERO has designed PRH grinders frequently installed also in the washing lines of SOREMA associated company. The wet grinding has a dual aim: size reduction of material and creation of a strong mechanical washing friction on the surface of the ground material. These grinders feature an innovative double scissor cut with inclined fix and rotating blades while the bearing supports are external to the cutting chamber and separated from it by double seals. The grate which is 12-15 mm tick presents a high ratio of free surface to grant a high discharging capacity. The water is dosed and distributed uniformly on the total rotor surface by a wet blade system. On all models it is installed a open rotor with interchangeable blade supports whose dimensions are from 750 x 1.200 mm for the small one up to 900 x 2.000 mm for the MU 920 PRH (new). The grinding is carried out by 6-7 rotating blades with wedge blocking and two fix blades with screw blocking. For all models we can point out common advantages: First of all the anti-wear plates of the rotor-steel rings fixed on its sides-which are suggested in case of granulation of abrasive or contaminated materials. A concentric spiral is obtained in the ring and during the rotation it prevents the entry of material between the rotor and the base. The construction design of the rotor, the hydraulic opening of the hopper and the easy access to the grate make the maintenance and cleaning operations quick and easy. The hopper has a tilting system carried out by one or two pistons driven by an hydraulic unit. When the tilting is over the cutting chamber of the granulator is completely accessible for the blades changing and cleaning operations . The grate holding drawer, through a cylinder driven by the hydraulic unit allowing the hopper tilting, basculates along the rotor axis allowing an easy and wide access to the grate. The rotating blades locking is carried out by a wedge located in proper housings obtained in the supports of the rotating blades. This solution allows a uniform locking on the whole surface of the blade, even in case of non perfect flatness of the blade itself, and the solution is made easier as the blades are removed and placed quickly after loosening the wedges. This assures also that, in case of braking caused by introduction of foreign metal bodies, the blades remain in in case of damage caused by the introduction of a foreign body it is possible, in fact, to replace only the damaged blade-holder without disassembling the rotor, with a remarkable save in cost and machine stop. The blade supports are fixed to the rotor with dovetail and locking wedge, and this solution ensures an absolute rigidity of the system.

All our grinders have a "scissors" progressive cut obtained by means of a suitable inclination of both fixed blades with a choice of the cutting angles according to the grinder application.
