Techpolymer (optical use)
To provide acrylic, PET, and polycarbonate resins with the property of diffusing light
Techpolymer is a light diffusion agent which provides superior light transmittance and diffusion performance.
Sekisui's Techpolymer is an indispensable part of the LCD for personal computers and televisions. The uniform light diffusion effect from the spherical particles helps make the entire display brighter and easier to see. It is also used as LED light cover's light diffusion material. It can be used in the fields that require high optical performance by reducing all light transmittance with haze-boosting effects. Upon customer request, we are developing varieties with improved optical performance and solvent resistance.
Techpolymer is used as a light diffusing material to scatter transmitted light and reduce reflected light, being added to transparent resins such as acrylic resin and polycarbonate resin, and also being coated on the surface of transparent films such as PET film. Compared to generally-used, non-organic titanium oxide, barium sulfate, and others, Techpolymer boasts higher light transmission and lower loss of all light transmittance, as well as the haze-boosting effects.
