The new generation system developed by measuring technology experts PIXARGUS sets new benchmarks in automated quality inspection of extruded products. ProfilControl 7 is the first system to combine complete surface inspection and 360° dimension measurement within one single sensor unit. By applying multi-area scanning, PIXARGUS is entering entirely new spheres of vision. Several measuring and testing tasks can be performed simultaneously thanks to virtual camera functions implemented by PIXARGUS. This takes data precision and defect analysis performance to the next level. By combining both LED and laser technology within the camera’s field of view, the new lighting concept opens up new possibilities of measurement. Thanks to its compact design and innovative assistance features, the system is quickly set up and ready for use as a flexible in-line system providing reliable measuring data during the start of a line and throughout the entire production campaign. 
Being modularly scalable, the new PC7 generation guarantees security of investment. The hybrid solution DualVision provides a real cost advantage.

Several measuring and testing tasks can be performed simultaneously thanks to the innovative Pixargus Hybrid Power multi-camera sensors. The high-power LED lighting element provides for an optimally and uniformly lightened measuring field and ensures excellent measuring and inspection results. Structural irregularities and material defects (specks, pores, scratches, cracks or grooves ...), which were not detectable in the past, can now be immediately captured and processed by the camera sensors. 
All functions controllable via MultiTouch panel. The new ProfilControl 7 software demonstrates how intelligent “machine vision” works: MultiArea, now allowing as many fields of view as desired to be set per camera; the new autofocus reduces set-up times; the coating check function is very important for webs in automotive applications; Defect Density Management (DDM) -- and much more!

Automated quality assurance starts as early as in the compounding stage!

100% inspection of the particles size of compounds.

By objectively inspecting the compounding quality ahead of the extrusion process, the inspection system ensures that only high-quality compounds will be processed. PC7 R automatically and objectively measures in real time the size of particles in the surface of extruded test strips processed by lab-scale extruders in the compound mixing shop. It enhances process reliability as it allows to determine – ahead of production – whether a compound will be suitable for production and whether the final product will comply with the specified quality requirements.

Pixargus GmbH, founded in 1999, develops, manufactures and sells systems for optical inline measurements and inspection of long products, such as profiles, tubing, tubes, webs and cables made of a great variety of materials. The systems are designed for inspection tasks in continuous production lines and on individual items.

Today, systems from Pixargus are in use in 24/7 manufacturing operations in industries as wide ranging as automotive, medical engineering, building and infrastructure as well as consumer goods.

The medium-sized company is a global “hidden champion” in optical inline quality inspection. Worldwide all major manufacturers of automotive rubber profiles use Pixargus systems for surface inspection and profile measurements. A relatively new mainstay of the company is the carbon composites and fiber market, where Pixargus systems provide inline inspection and measurements of continuous and sheet products made of carbon composites as well as carbon fiber roving. Also in medical engineering Pixargus has set new benchmarks with its inline surface inspection systems for medical tubing.

The Pixargus real-time image processing technology also formed the basis for the foundation of GoalControl GmbH and the goal-line technology of the same name, which proved highly successful in practice during the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

Pixargus is based in Würselen near Aachen/Germany. The company is active worldwide through its US branch and various international technical agencies.
