MechaTron® LQ S

Designed especially for small flow volumes
Deliver fluids with high precision and an accuracy of ± 0.5 per cent

Whether you are dealing with oil, acids or water – Schenck Process presents a newly developed loss-in-weight feeder especially designed to handle small flow volumes: the MechaTron® LQ S. Contrary to its “big brother”, the MechaTron® LQ M, the MechaTron® LQ S uses platform scales with only a single load cell. As a result, small flow volumes in the range of 0.25 to 150 kg/h can be realised. In addition, the MechaTron® LQ S, which is made completely of stainless steel, has a feeding accuracy exceeding ± 0.5 per cent and a wide range of applications. That allows liquids with temperatures between 5 and 100ºC and viscosities between 0 and 1,000 mPas to be fed in. Furthermore, the feeding system can be implemented in ambient temperatures of -10 to +50ºC.

The MechaTron® LQ S is available either as a gravimetric feeder or as a volumetric Loss-in-Weight Feeder with or without a weighing module and decoupling. Should the customer choose the gravimetric system, the MechaTron® LQ S uses a regulated pump. With this configuration, the actual feed rate is determined from the decrease in weight per unit time. The control system compares the actual feed rate with the pre-set target feed rate and regulates the pump’s feeding performance. In order to achieve highly accurate weighing results, the pump is separated from the weighed section. That offers the considerable advantage that the MechaTron® LQ S can be used at a counter-pressure of up to 70 bars without adversely affecting the measurement’s accuracy.

The measurement, control and regulating electronics of the mechatronic version can be directly integrated into the mechanics, or placed in a control cabinet or wall housing according to individual customer requirements.

ProFlex® F

Loss-in-weight feeder in hygienic design

The ProFlex® from Schenck Process: Now also available in a hygienic design version

The new ProFlex® F for optimum solutions in the foodstuffs industry

What is the right amount of seasoning added to a ready meal? For products to ultimately taste as they should, the foodstuffs industry requires recipes that are accurate to the gram. This demands a lot from the feeder, which not only has to be matched perfectly to the properties of bulk materials and feed rates, but must be able to fit flexibly into any space too.

The solution is the ProFlex® F from Schenck Process. The experts from Schenck Process present the new ProFlex® F, a version of the tried-and-tested ProFlex® feeder system boasting hygienic design for the food industry. It makes light work of both gravimetric and volumetric continuous feeding of food products. The new innovation from Schenck Process is available in hygiene standard one for dry cleaning and hygiene standard two for wet cleaning. Customers can pick from three ProFlex® F sizes (F500/F3000/F6000), and various feed hoppers, augers and spirals for optimum adaptation to the relevant material characteristics and the desired delivery rates. All models are easy to clean for quick and easy product changes. Other benefits include the highly flexible and space-saving design, allowing for optimum installation in existing and new production plants. The off-centre arrangement of the augers allows up to eight feeders with close-fitting discharge pipes to be neatly installed in pairs. For maximum flexibility, the direction of the discharge side can be easily changed at any time.

Thanks to the MULTI-POINT weighing system, the ProFlex® F is not affected by lateral impact or vibrations. All the cables carrying power and signals between weighed and stationary parts are positioned within the protection of the weighing module, thereby avoiding unwanted force shunts.

In short, the ProFlex® F is ideally suited to maximize precision feeding in the foodstuffs industry – free from maintenance, easy to clean and highly versatile. The system fulfills the basic hygiene requirements stipulated by the DIN EN ISO 14159 and DIN EN 1672-2 standards for the feeding of dry products in a dry environment. All non-metallic components that come into contact with the product meet the requirements of European directive (EG) 1935/2004. The gear mechanisms are filled with lubricants suited to use with foodstuffs.

MechaTron® Coni-Steel®

Loss-in-weight feeder

Highly accurate and constant volumetric and gravimetric feeding of poorly flowing bulk solids

How does the MechaTron® Coni-Steel ® cope so well with even extremely poorly flowing, problematic bulk solids? The solution lies in its special hopper design, in conjunction with its vertical agitator. Its steep walls with an internal agitator ensure a constant mass flow. The agitator sweeps the entire inner surface of the hopper and prevents bridging inside it. This results in exact, reliable feeding of problematic products with an accuracy level better than +/- 0.5%.

Easier, space-saving product changes The feed hopper (optional), with its sectioned agitator and feeding element, can easily be disassembled and assembled by just one person. Cleaning, servicing, maintenance and product change can all be accomplished from the back, the non-process side. This provides greater latitude for system planning. In addition, the valuable overall height can be optimally used. In 2000 the MechaTron® Feeder received the “New Product Award” from the Governor of Wisconsin.

MULTIGRAV®

Multiple feed station

A multistation feeder for granulates with up to eight modules

Only a really multi-talented product can deal with the demanding feeding tasks of the plastic and chemicals industry with ease. However, the MULTIGRAV® multiple feeding station from Schenck Process is just such a multi-talented product. The multiple feeding system is enormously powerful and enables simultaneous feeding of different bulk solid components to form homogeneous mixtures. With an adjustable range of 1:80 it excels, delivering maximum feeding accuracy and consistent feeding constancy. With up to eight modules, it can be perfectly adapted to all kinds of different tasks. Powerful, reliable, highly variable and easier to maintain than ever before, it is an easily adaptable feeding station designed for fast, clean and easy product change.

Another plus is its compact, space-saving design, which enables the MULTIGRAV® to be easily installed practically anywhere.

Product change clean, quick and easy Industries such as the carpet fibre industry alternately feed granulates such as PP, master batches or stabilisers. In the past such product changes used to be very time-consuming. The solution was to develop further the proven and successful system in the form of MULTIGRAV® EasyClean. Pull out the feeder console with both hands. Attach the chute without tools. Open the chute fastening. This can be cleaned in no time; then simply close the console and continue with production.
