Hence GÖTTFERT is continuously improving and developing further their range of MI machines to meet the challenges in the international market.

The new mi40 can be operated via a flexible positionable touchpanel which can be used directly at mi40 or can be moved flexibly and is therefore equally suited for a right and lefthanded person.
The mi40 is equipped with a semi-automated cleaning unit, with no use of compressed air, ensuring an efficient and reliable test barrel cleaning by means of up/down movements and rotating cleaning piston.
Multi-Load tests with up to 8 test weights ascending, descending or freely selectable
Automatic characteristic point detection as a function of MFR/MVR optimizes the test run
Integrated semi-automatic cleaning of the test barrel with a rotating cleaning piston 
Force controlled pre-loading and ejection of the test material by drive and test weights (up to 60kg)

Mobile Rheology for Melt Indexer

With  the new miAPP, GÖTTFERT brings mobility to the world of rheology.
The  miAPP easily allows to create parameter sets at any convenient place, that means you are no longer limited to stay next to the Melt Indexer or to a PC. The miAPP allows to parameterize the Melt Indexers the mobile way.
Also monitoring of current and stored measurements is possible at any time.
Single measurements, as well as the history is visible in tabular and graphical form.
miAPP is platform independent (iOS, Android, Windows, etc.) and can be installed on each device with modern browser.
Due to the independence of the devices in combination with web technology, also own devices can have good access.

THE MI-ROBO 89.07 IS PRESENTED AT THE K 2016 WITH SOME NEW FEATURES

By its high automation the Automatic  Melt Indexer contributes to an even increased accuracy.
The reason for this high accuracy is the  “operator factor” usually being an important issue, but here it is completely omitted during the fully automated melt flow tests of the MI-Robo contrary to manual and semi-manual operated MI devices.

The new MI-Robo 89.07 is now equipped with an integrated die cleaning function.
The die cleaning is automatically performed by the system and the die is directly available for subsequent tests.

New features of the MI-Robo is the optimized replacement of the cleaning roll and the use of
electric motors instead of pneumatic motors.  As a result, both, noise level and air consumption were reduced significantly.
Force controlled pre-loading and ejection of the test material by drive and test weights (up to 60kg)  
To complete the mentioned features we like to emphasize the accelerated weight selection and the optimized piston cleaning to provide fast availability of the weights and the test piston for subsequent test.
It is also possible to connect the MI-Robo 89.07 to an Online-Sampler for feeding test material directly from the production line.

Capillary Rheometer

The new high-pressure capillary rheometer series with an extensive range of options

 The current Rheograph series is available in single or multi-channel design with a test load of up to 120 kN and a dynamic speed range of up to 40 mm / sec (2400 mm / min). The automatic pressure transducer recognition "Plug & Test" is certainly the right choice. The sensitivity of the pressure measurement was increased by 10 times compared to the previous model.

The new bus control electronics and a precision drive, were the focus of this new development. The convenient 5.7 "color touch screen, the script flow control for your own procedures or the preparation for options such as PVT, thermal conductivity or Shark-Skin determination are also only excerpts.

For the measurement sequence and the extended evaluation, multifunctional tools are delivered with the LabRheo operator software as well as WinRheo II (EXCEL®-based).

Database access from the external system and the csv export are easy to implement.

A remote maintenance software can be used for fast fault analysis or for training purposes.

MOONEY, ELASTOGRAPH, VISCO ELASTOGRAPH , RCR- Rubber Capillary Rheometer

The ELASTOGRAPH „S
is a next step in the continuous product care of the approved standard device with constant angle range, but here now with a variable deformation amplitude of ±0.1° to ±4° and a frequency of 50 or 100 waves per minute. This higher shear range offers now the possibility to display a bigger oscillation curve especially when testing low viscose materials. Also the measurement of torque and the normal force as well as an autoloader function is possible.

MOONEY-VISKOSIMETER: The shear disk VISCOSIMETER is availbale in the basic edition with a standarized version of 2 rpm. Alternatively a variable rotation of 0.1 to 5 rpm as well as now also the option 0.1 to 50 rpm was added to test very low viscose samples. In the low range quite less deformation was formerly to be seen. The air cooling saves time due to the faster reducing of the temperature, just for starting the next measurement earlier.

VISCO-ELASTOGRAPH: The lower test chamber half can now be moved in a sinusoidal oscillation from a frequency range of 0.01 to 100 Hz and an amplitude of ±0.01° to ±90°. This advanced range offers also new possibilities for more freedom of action with critical testing samples.

RCR - now with step measurement at constant speed
Easy upgrade by software upgrade

As in the RHEOGRAPH, several steps are processed successively in the step measurement in order to ultimately obtain a viscosity curve. This makes it possible to make clearer statements about the flow and processing behavior of rubber and rubber mixtures than in the case of the conventional driving method with constant pressure at a single value. The duration of the individual steps is variable and is limited only by the path length of the test plunger. After the software upgrade up to 3 steps are available, the upgrade package also includes an update of the measurement and evaluation software "RubberView".

X - Trude

The new EXTRUSIOMETER X-trude

Design, Precision and established technology

The X-trude series comes in a completey new construction, which can be configured to a laboratory extruder by the extensions 300, 600 and 1400 (torque values [Nm]). Flexible in cylinder-diameter and -length, as well as special cylinder systems designed according to application preferences, selected positions for pressure transducers or the melt temperature acquisition are only a few highlights of the basic device.

The X-trude can be used as a standard plasticator device for follow up units or also as an EXTRUSIOMETER to measure the shear rate, shear stress and viscosity. The platform offers also a wide range of options and add-on systems, like different die geometries, Online Rheometers, extensional viscosity testers or blow-/flat film units with optical analyzing functions.

CONTIFEED -

Our fully automated Melt Feeding Unit 

The CONTIFEED offers new possibilities for determination of process-related rheological
test data. The system is combined of a capillary rheometer Rheograph 50 and a Mini-Extruder.
The Extruder feeds the test barrel of the Rheograph with melt, which ensures an air bubble free filling of the test barrel.
This continuous method of melt feeding contributes to a significant timesaving during the tests.
The reduced material residence time under influence of elevated temperatures is just one of the advantages due to shortened heating time by optimized and effective heating system.

As a result of this short heating time the CONTIFEED is specially suitable for elastomers and thermally less stable material.
By pre-plastification also powder materials, e.g. PVC dry blends can be measured.

SLR - Spin Line Rheometer

Extensional Rheometer for high Haul-off Speeds

Melt spinning is an important production process for chemical fibers made of synthetic or biologically based polymers.
The new Spin Line Rheometer introduced by GÖTTFERT is a measurement system to characterize the spinnability of polymers in lab scale. The system can be installed under an extruder or a capillary rheometer and is able to measure the strand force and therefore the extensional viscosity at spinning speeds of up to 7000 m/min.
The strand is guided around the diversion-wheel that is placed horizontally below the extruder die.
The wheel is installed on a highly sensitive force sensor with a resolution of 0,05mN that measures the draw-down force in the strand. The strand is accelerated by the take-off wheel installed on a high-speed electric motor. A strand guide makes multiple wrappings possible.
A Venturi-Die is used to separate the strand from the take-off wheel. Optionally an optical measurement system can be installed to measure the strand profile at various positions between the die and the diversion-wheel. A new, extended version of the Rheotens-Software is used to control the measurement system and to analyze the data.

The Software can be connected to higher-level bus systems. With an optional self running Online Sampler System for material feeding a non-stop operation is guaranteed.

ADDICHECK - Monitoring of formulation and viscosity with one device

Quality control of formulation components and viscosity is essential in plastics polymerization and processing to avoid scrap material and extended costs. A compact test arrangement for the operation on the process extruder is not available in the plastics industry so far.
GÖTTFERT Werkstoff-Prüfmaschinen GmbH in cooperation with Inno-Spec GmbH and Kunststoffzentrum SKZ has developed a formulation sensor system AddiCheck. The sensor is used directly in an Online-Rheometer and therefore an operation at absolute stable process conditions is assured.

The system consists of a spectrometer and a solide optical reflexion probe applicable for use at 400°C and 500°C . Moreover the probe has also been enhanced for good self-cleaning function and can therefore operate continuously without any additional cleaning.

The first version of AddiCheck is focusing first for application with polyolefins and operates in wavelength range of 950- 1650 nm in the near-infrared (NIR) region. Extension capability to cope with technical plastics and larger ranges of wavelength is possible.

The AddiCheck system can be used for determination of individual formulation components with a high accuracy level and detection limit of up to 0,01%. This is particularly relevant for antioxidants and light stabilizers of typical quantity between 0,05 and 0,5 Gew.-%.

A new high quality level in online quality process control is achieved by integration of the AddiCheck system for simultaneous determination of rheological values and concentration content. Details on the AddiCheck formulation sensor are available at the GÖTTFERT booth H10 J55 at the K show 2016 in Düsseldorf.

Dynamic tests are required for the determination of the structural properties of Polymers.
With previously used Online Capillary Rheometer just the determination of rheological properties in stationary mode was possible.
 
The DOR enables both, simultaneous determination of visco-elastic properties in dynamic mode, as well as the online measurement of viscosity and melt index in stationary mode.

PVT -

PVT Measurement isothermal/isobaric air-cooled up to 500 °C

The new test device PVT is specifically designed for measurements of PVT isothermal and PVT isobaric.

With this device thermodynamic properties, the specific volume of the polymer as a function of temperature and pressure, can be determined.

These data are particularly important for the simulation of the injection moulding process. But

they also can be used to describe any process of shrinkage during cooling as for example in extrusion.

The measurement can be performed in two possibilities:

Isothermal – at constant temperature and changing pressure or

Isobaric – at constant pressure with different cooling rates.

The device is characterized by its compact test chamber and by its new optimized cooling system.

The cooling medium is air, therefore no cooling water connection is required.

As an option also the thermal conductivity of the material can be measured acc. ASTM D5930 / ISO 22007-1
