FOOD CONTACT PLASTICS

Being a partially crystalline thermoplastic, its coefficient of friction and easy machinability, make this material one of the most popular choices in any industry, but it is especially sought after for food processing applications as it is approved for direct food contact.

Two ranges of polyethylene are distinguished and differentiated by their molecular weight: TKG®500 (HMWPE) and TKG® 1000 (UHMWPE). Our HMWPE is either an extruded or pressed polyethylene with a high molecular weight and high performance. UHMWPE is an ultra high molecular weight polyethylene with less rigidity and better impact resistance that other, lighter molecular weight polyethylenes. It is therefore highly appropriate for continuous impact applications.
Some of its main characteristics are:
• Food contact approved
• Easily machined
• Low coefficient of friction and high abrasion resistance
• Very good wear and chemical resistance.
In addition to virgin and coloured polyethylenes, we manufacture grades containing additives and variants subjected to specialized treatments.

PA6 RODS, TUBES, SHEETS

To manufacture our family of Traidamid PA6 Polyamides, also known as nylons, two methods are available, extrusion and casting, both producing rod, plate and tube formats.

The extruded polyamide (PA6E) is a macromolecular semi crystalline thermoplastic obtained by the polymerization of caprolactam. The use of a high viscosity polymer for extrusion allows for a product of excellent mechanical characteristics with a high level of quality.
The production method of cast polyamides (PA6G) (polymerization of caprolactam directly into the tool) allows the production of profiles that are much larger than standard dimensions, enabling us to make huge rings, very thick plates and blocks.
Some of our nylons main characteristics are
• Availability of qualities conforming to FDA standards
• Optimal mechanical resistance, hardness and rigidity.
• Excellent sliding and friction properties.
In addition to the virgin polyamide, we manufacture different grades loaded with molybdenum disulphide , carbon graphite, oil, polyethylene, etc...

PP RODS / SHEETS

The lightest of all thermoplastics yet with mechanical capabilities beyond those of high density polyethylene, its primary use is in the chemical industry due to its alkaline / acid resistance. At ambient temperature it resists almost any kind of chemical attack and at temperatures close to 70°C very few chemical agents can harm it. It is a highly recyclable plastic with very little impact on the environment. Higher hardness or wear resistance from abrasion can be achieved when it is reinforced with glass fibre.

• Superior chemical resistance
• High abrasion resistance

• Minimal water absorption

PTFE RODS / TUBES / SHEETS

PTFE is chemically inert even when exposed to high temperatures and pressures, it is completely non toxic and possesses unmatched non stick properties since its coefficient of friction is the lowest known amongst solids. It conserves its chemical and electrical properties between the temperatures of -180°C and 260°C and is non flammable.

In the electrical and electronic industries it has a wide field of application due to its exceptional electric and dielectric properties, which remain constant to a wide spectrum of frequencies and temperatures. It is self lubricating and its properties can be further improved by combining it with additives such as graphite, bronze, stainless, glass fibre etc. Its resistance to traction is moderate, and it is flexible but not elastic (the smaller the section the higher its flexibility and vice versa).
Some of its main characteristics are
• Superior Chemical resistance
• Excellent machinability
• Non flammable
• Elevated elongation before break (>300%)

PVC RODS / TUBES / SHEETS

It is the product of the polymerization of Vinyl Chloride. Many different types of PVC exist and are distinguishable by their molecular weight and their process of manufacture. Every application requires employment of the proper type of PVC in order to obtain the necessary properties, essential to the final product. As with all thermoplastic products, it hardens in cold and softens in heat. For this reason, at low temperatures its mechanical resistance is augmented and resistance to impact is lowered, In a rigid state, it can be easily and strongly welded by the application of heat (welding arc, hot air current, high frequency heating).

• Easily welded when hot
• Excellent machinability
• Greater rigidity compared to polyolefins

PAPER LAMINATE Hp 2061: Our Laminate manufactured from kraft paper impregnated with a phenolic resin binder, It has
good electrical properties and moderate mechanical strength. Outstanding for use as
template material and or backup material.
