POLY

POLY high-pressure gear pump for the discharge of medium to high viscosity media from the reactor. The extra large inlet opening guarantees an even flow of product to the gearwheels even under vacuum or extremely low NPSH conditions.Offered with either a round inlet port, by means of which the suction flange of the pump is directly connected to the outlet flange of the reactor or as a low NPSH version, where the pump is connected between the pump and reactor flanges, in order to achieve an even larger and shorter inlet port.

EXTRU III

Compact and compatible
EXTRU III pumps are of compact design and impress through their extraordinary compatibility. Their light construction and compact design allow simple installation, thus saving time and valuable fl oor space.

The EXTRU III can be operated with viscosities of up to 30.000 Pas., temperatures of 350°C, suction pressures of up to 120 bar and differential pressures of up to 250 bar. The standard EXTRU III pump is delivered with aluminium-bronze Viscoseals. This dynamic shaft seal is designed especially for high viscosities and suction pressures and can be provided with cooling if required.

Because of the effi cient build-up of pressure in comparison to extruders, the product can be conveyed in a very gentle manner with the WITTE EXTRU III gear pump, as comparatively little energy or heat is transferred to the polymer. They allow an extremely precise and almost pulsation-free conveyance of polymer, so that fl uctuations in conveyance by the extruder will be compensated for. The friction bearings are provided with special lubrication pockets and channels to ensure long-term, reliable operation.

EXTRU II

The EXTRU is mainly used in conjunction with extruders or kneaders. It reduces the natural pulsation and irregular conveyance, particularly in single-screw extruders, added to which, the build up of pressure in the gear pump is more efficient in comparison to the extruder. Because of this, less energy or heat is transferred into the polymer and the product is conveyed in a gentler manner. The EXTRU is indispensable for the manufacture of precision films or micro granulate.

The robust construction and low wear materials make the EXTRU indispensable for extrusions. Special versions are available for conveying natural rubber and soft PVC. The WITTE quick colour change version lends itself particularly to master batch applications with frequent changes of colour.

In order to prevent the pump's drive shaft from being driven/pushed out of the housing when there is a high pressure on the suction side (extruder conveying pressure), the drive shaft must be relieved. It protrudes from both sides of the housing and is sealed, so that atmospheric pressure predominates on both sides of the drive shaft. The shaft is thus relieved.
