Norilux® DC - Dual-Cure screen printing lacquer

Norilux® DC is a formable, abrasion resistant Dual-Cure screen printing lacquer. Norilux® DC can be used as protective lacquer or hard coat on PC, PMMA, ABS and PP films.
Norilux® DC is ideally suited for first surface coating/protection of products manufactured in IMD/FIM technology.
The glossy version of the Dual-Cure lacquer can be printed on textured film surfaces to produce abrasion resistant and transparent display windows.
The matt version of Norilux® DC can be printed on uncured transparent hard coat films such as Makrofol® HF 278 or 312 to create matt and high gloss effects in one item.
Besides the high glossy Norilux® DC lacquer, various satin gloss, textured and matt grades as well as pigmented and UV-stabilized versions are available.
Tactile surface structures e.g. brush effects and 3D patterns can be printed with the highly resistant lacquer.
The Dual-Cure screen printing lacquer can be used for overprinting silicone-free UV, solvent and water-based screen printing inks as well.
Norilux® DC dries by evaporation of the solvents in jet dryers. Before further processing of the printed films, it is necessary to remove nearly all solvent residues from the layer of lacquer and substrate. Well ventilated box ovens can be used.
Films decorated with Norilux® DC can be 3D formed after box oven drying e.g. by high pressure forming or thermo forming. Afterwards, the formed films must be UV cured. Depending on the thickness of the lacquer layer, UV doses of 1200-2000 mJ/cm2 are necessary (Kühnast UV-Integrator, UV 250 to 410 nm, max. 365 nm).
The cured lacquer layer shows excellent resistances to abrasion, chemicals and cleaning agents and passes various creme tests of the automobile industry.
In automotive interior, center stacks, touch panels and decorative trims are first surface protected with Norilux® DC.
Even mobile phone covers and sanitary panels are overprinted with the highly resistant lacquer. Second surface decoration is printed with the IMD/FIM ink system NORIPHAN® HTR N.

NORIPHAN HTR N

The screen printing ink NORIPHAN® HTR N is a well established IMD/FIM ink system for the film insert molding technique. NORIPHAN® HTR N is designed for back printing polycarbonate films, such as Makrofol® and PC-blend films like Bayfol®. For 3-dimensional products, an additional forming step of the decorated films can be an option. The formed films are trimmed and inserted in the cavity of the injection molding press. Finally the decorated films are back molded directly onto the printed side with PC/ABS. NORIPHAN® HTR N is extremely flexible and resistant to the high temperature of the melted resin during injection molding. In the final product the ink layers are sandwiched between PC film and resin. The decoration is protected to an optimal degree from damage. Processing of transparent and opaque color shades enables an easy production of backlit panels (night design). NORIPHAN® HTR N is used to decorate lenses, housings and keypads of mobile phones, panels and bezels of car interiors (climate control panels, speedometer panels), housings and displays of medical devices, panels of household appliances as well as high-grade cosmetic packaging. A wide range of metallic, pearlescent and chameleon color shades is available as for all Proell IMD ink systems. NORIPHAN® PCI process inks are especially designed for IMD/FIM Technology. These process inks are a modification of the proven NORIPHAN® HTR N system. Screen fineness of 48 lines per cm can be printed.

Matt Lacquer ATM WB 6

Matt Lacquer ATM WB 6 is an amended water-based, formable matt lacquer system for overprinting polycarbonate film instrument gauges (speedometer panels). Printed films are excellent deep-drawable by vacuum or high pressure forming. The matt lacquer can be used as well for matting high gloss films made of PC, pre-treated PET and rigid PVC. The screen printed deep matt lacquer surface has a soft grip and shows good scratch and chemical resistances.

NoriCure UV-L 3

NoriCure® UV-L 3 is a UV-curing screen printing lacquer showing excellent scratch and abrasion resistance. The cured surface of the lacquer resists even strong wipes with steel wool.

The high glossy UV-lacquer is designed for printing on PC films, coated PET films (e.g. Autotype Autoflex EPG 180, Autotex V200), various rigid PVC films and for overprinting of printed products.

The lacquer is used to overprint and protect displays, lenses and panels. The cured lacquer shows excellent resistances to chemicals and cleaning agents. Besides the high glossy NoriCure UV-L3, matt (NoriCure® UV-L 3-001) and textured (NoriCure® UV-L 3-002) as well as UV-stabilized (NoriCure® UV-L 3-003) versions are available.

NoriCure® MPF is a versatile UV screen printing ink, which is suitable for printing signs and displays, to be formed afterwards by deep drawing.
NoriCure® MPF shows good adhesion to a wide range of substrates such as PVC self-adhesive films, rigid PVC, polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC) and pre-treated polyester (PET) substrates. The suitability for printing on PMMA and polypropylene (PP) must be tested.

Mirror Ink M3

Mirror Ink M3 is an improved screen printing ink for printing chrome effects.
The ink system is used for second surface decoration of transparent plastics and films (PC, PMMA, rigid PVC, pre-treated PET films) and glass.
While drying, the metal pigments are aligned parallel to the substrate’s reverse side.
Viewed through the transparent material from the first surface, the pigments create a mirror like effect. To improve the resistance of the printed mirror, Mirror Ink M3 should be overprinted with a mild solvent-based ink system (NORIPHAN® N2K) or a water-based screen printing ink (Aqua-Jet® FGL M).

High gloss effects can be achieved, even if Mirror Ink M3 is printed on the first surface of a smooth substrate.
Mirror Ink M3 shows good printing properties and excellent climate stability. Large areas and fine details can be easily printed. Due to the pigment particle size, fabrics from 77 to 150 threads/cm (195 to 380 threads/inch) are recommended.

NoriPress® PP – Adhesion Promoter for PP-IMD/FIM

NoriPress® PP is a new adhesion promoter for IMD/FIM technology (Film Insert Molding) which makes back molding of second surface screen printed polypropylen films with polypropylen injection molding material possible.
Up to now, back molding of PP film laminates was possible only.
For decorating corona pre-treated PP films, the IMD/FIM screen printing inks NORIPHAN® XWR and NoriPET® are best suited,
The one-component, solvent-based adhesion promoter NoriPress® PP has been developed for back printing Sihl PP hard coat film PicoFORM T DC. The printed film shows excellent cohesion in compound values when back molding with Daplen® EE 158 Al (Borealis).
Automotive decorative parts and panels as well as motocycle fairings and tool housings can be produced in durable quality by using the PP IMD/FIM process.
