Zeon Europe GmbH

ZEON Corporation Presents Itself in a Phase of Economic Recovery

Dusseldorf – ZEON Corporation, Tokyo/Japan, is one of the leading global providers of synthetic elastomers and specialty polymers. Founded in 1950 the company always took advantage of the results of the Central Research Laboratories in Tokyo.Since this time ZEON has introduced a vast number of exclusive products and solutions which secured a unique sent high quality products  customers can rely on. At the same time it is a matter of concern for ZEON to contribute to the preservation and protection of the environment and to exploit new business areas in this segment. The development and production of a Hydrin elastomer with bio-derived monomer is an example for these efforts.

From an economical point of view ZEON Corp. is looking  forward to reach a phase of upturn after some difficult years. In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2014 (1 April 2013 to 30 June 2013) the total turnover could be increased by roughly 11 per cent from more than 65 billion yen to nearly 72.5 billion yen. With more than 45.5 Billion yen, the Elastomer business was clear No 1, specialty plastics contributed more than 15 billion yen (with a plus of 37 percent!), and about 12 billion yen went on other products.

Accordingly, the operating income could be considerably improved, too: In the first three months the income increased from around 6.6 billion yen in the first quarter of the previous year by more than 31 percent to approximately 8.7 billion yen.

Thus, the predetermined strategy of a continuous development of new businesses with elastomers as well as with specialty polymers showed initial success. To reinforce this trend the international business activities will be further expanded with the clear objective to open up new markets.

ZEON Europe, the European headquarters located in Dusseldorf, is steering the special polymers business in the dynamic markets in Western and Central Europa, Russia and Turkey. Since 1989 the business in Europe could be continuously improved.

At K 2013 in Düsseldorf ZEON will present innovative products in hall 6 booth A 20 in two subject areas:

-        Synthetic Rubber and Specialty Elastomers
-        Cyclo-Olefin Polymers (COP)

In the COP segment ZEON offers outstanding products with Zeonex® und Zeonor® for applications in consumer electronics, telecommunication, medical, pharmaceutical and optical devices.

In the Elastomer section one of the widest ranges of performance elastomers in the world for all segments of the rubber industry with best known product names like Nipol®, Zetpol®, HyTemp® or Hydrin®.
