The Wittmann Group has moved into an enlarged and purpose-built facility in the Czech Republic, creating a new headquarters for Wittmann Battenfeld CZ that will be responsible for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The new facility has more than 1100m² of space for regional sales and service support, with plans to create a design department for the mechanical and electrical design, construction, and startup of grippers, end-of-arm tooling for robots, and complete automation cells.
The facility, which officially began operations Feb. 1, is located in Pisek, in the southern part of Bohemia, a few kilometers from the company's existing site, with construction having started in the fall of 2008. Wittmann's Czech subsidiary began operations in April 2003 in Pisek. Since that time, the company reports that more than 200 plastic processors in the Czech Republic and Slovakia are using Wittmann and Wittmann Battenfeld machines or entire production lines, with most of the business focused on the automotive market....
