Leading off is Frank Nissel, who is retiring after more than 60 years in the industry. Nissel, who just completed his last trip to the K show as president and chairman of sheet extrusion systems manufacturer Welex Inc. (Blue Bell, PA), announced his retirement last week to the company's employees, but when Plasticstoday.com tried to reach him he was in a plane headed for the company's assembly plant in North Carolina to oversee testing of a new extruder.
Nissel has been a leader in the plastics machinery industry for six decades. He has received numerous awards, including his induction into the Plastics Hall of Fame (2000), SPE International Award-Business Management (1995), Fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers (1993), SPE Extrusion Division Distinguished Service Award (1992), and Induction into the Plastics Pioneers Association (1990)....
