Southwest Venture Plastics Inc. (El Paso, Texas) is adding a third injection molding line to its full-service, ISO/TS-16949 certified facility. The custom thermoplastic injection molder, which opened its El Paso facility five years ago to serve a growing customer base in the area, stated that the new line would help it meet the needs of long-term customers, new customers, and expansions within the marketplaces its serve. The company anticipates its new capacity to be fully online during the fourth quarter of 2011.
Venture's Bryan Osborne told PlasticsToday that no presses have been added yet, just the infrastructure to support new machines beyond the plant's existing 11, including installation of water, electricity, and air resources. "We are in the process of creating our 2012 annual operating plan to determin the size presses that will be added to the line," Osborne said. At this point, the company has already invested $50,000 in the infrastructure installations, and the company is in a modular building so further expansion, if needed, is possible.
