Its two Competence Centers – Materials Handling and Compounding & Extrusion – together constitute a unique concentration of competence, know-how and experience in the fields of bulk materials handling and compounding for the plastics industry. This means, in other words, that Coperion possesses outstanding know-how for all process stages along the entire value chain in the plastics industry. Moreover, Coperion supplies all key components for the entire process. Experienced personnel in Project Management and Engineering ensure that every plant comes up to customers’ expectations in terms of delivery, cost and performance. Coperion has also adapted its organization to its strategic aims and can respond to the ever increasing number of customers’ enquiries concerning turnkey installations quickly and competently.
Thus planning, execution and all the essential units of a complete plant come from a single source, an advantage through which Coperion has attained an undisputed market leadership worldwide. The resulting synergies that benefit Coperion’s customers have been received by the market so positively that the demand for them is growing more and more. A complete turnkey plant basically comprises what Coperion offers within the scope of supply and services of its aforementioned Competence Centers, while the customer himself may extend the installation as he wishes, e.g. with steel supporting structures, buildings, energy supply etc.
Complete turnkey plants also include modular plants. These are complete, pre-tested installations that have been integrated into steel supporting structures and can be built up to the size of a ZSK 133. Many such modular plants are already giving satisfactory service worldwide.
Visitors to Coperion’s Stand B33 in Hall 14 at K 2010 (Duesseldorf, October 27 to November 3, 2010) will be afforded an extraordinary insight into the design and construction of a complete turnkey plant: a compounding line, which in reality would be a good 150 metres long, will be presented in a 3D simulation using augmented reality technology. All essential stages in the process will be shown in detail, from the raw material feed and pneumatic conveying systems to the actual compounding process and immediate downstream logistics. 3D viewers allow each of the 20 individual process stages to be experienced and permit the view atthe compounding line in real dimensions.
