Tosaf: New, highly efficient antifog masterbatches for food packaging films

Tosaf presents newly developed, highly efficient antifog masterbatches for transparent polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) food packaging films, announced the company.

AF5979PE and AF4953LL prevent formation of water droplets on complex multilayer PE films. These masterbatches do not impact film properties that are essential for subsequent processing steps such as lamination, printing or sealing. AF5979PE has an advantage of superior optical properties, while AF4953LL shows better antifogging activity under the challenging conditions associated with films made almost entirely of Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE).

AF2329CP is a new antifog masterbatch by Tosaf which has been tailored to PP food packaging films. It prevents condensation of small water droplets at the film surface at high and low temperatures and exhibits excellent antifog activity over a long period of time. Unlike many other masterbatches for PP applications, films with AF2329CP do not have any food contact limitations.

Tosaf's comprehensive product portfolio also covers further additive masterbatches for various applications, color masterbatches for a wide range of polymers as well as mineral-filled compounds for the white goods industry, automotive and other plastic industries.

Tosaf Group, founded in 1985, is a joint-venture between Megides Holding and the Ravago Group, with an expected turnover of more than 200 Million € in 2010. The group operates nine factories in Israel, Turkey, Germany, UK (Colloids Ltd., specializing in black as well as color masterbatches), The Netherlands and the Ukraine, with a total of 720 employees.
