TPE resin pricing, June 11-15: PE, PP down another $0.01-$0.02/lb; PE inventories bulge


Average spot polyethylene prices slipped $0.01-$0.02/lb while polypropylene shed another $0.02/lb amid ample supplies and negative sentiment. Spot-trading platform, The Plastics Exchange (TPE), noted that the commodity plastics market remains "well entrenched in the down leg of its pricing cycle," although energy and feedstocks seem to have stabilized. June resin contracts will be lower, with polypropylene already down $0.155/lb along with polymer grade propylene (PGP). Polyethylene seems likely to fall by $0.04-$0.08/lb.
