TPE resin prices, June 4-8; PE, PP down $0.02/lb; May contracts down $0.07/lb for PE, $0.10/lb for PP


Polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) spot prices both shed another $0.02/lb as lower feedstock costs continue to make their way downstream to resins. Spot-trading platform, The Plastics Exchange (TPE), noted that purchasing activity has been better at the start of June, as buyers in need of materials welcomed the lower prices with orders. TPE CEO Michael Greenberg said that "when all the dust settled in May," PE contracts dropped $0.07/lb while PP fell $0.10/lb, with further relief expected for June contracts.
