Sprint dials up new packaging standards


Sprint has updated its packaging standards in a move the company anticipates will drive more sustainable packaging.

The global provider of voice, data, and Internet services has updated its environmental scorecard evaluation criteria for phone and packaging for device manufacturers and vendors. Sprint's environmental scorecard now requires all phones go through the UL Environment certification process, which includes standards aimed at producing more sustainable packaging solutions.

Sprint spokeswoman Marci VerBrugge-Rhind told PlasticsToday the company believes these standards can benefit the industry as a whole.
