Silcart offers new products for polyurethane panels at UTECH North America 2010

Supports play a key-role in the production of rigid expanded polyurethane panels by giving determined characteristics, which make the panels suitable for specific, professional applications and systems. Fibreglass-based facings, among all, better satisfy production requirements, fitting peculiar line specifications: they manage the evacuation of blowing gases in excess during the foam expansion phase - preventing the creation of blisters in the surface of panel, and help speeding up production process, complying with the behaviour of the different formulations. Fibreglass has a characteristic fibres texture, whose distribution guarantees its high dimensional stability, limiting eventual panel curling, and guarantees the extreme adhesion of poluyrethane foam, thus enhancing mechanical and fire resistance of the panel. Fibreglass is a hydrophobic material, resistant to the attacks of moulds and insects. Glass Xtreme is Silcart's 2010 flexible facing. Made of a fibreglass carrier, it is laminated with a bituminous compound whose special composition, developed with customers' requirements, allows a homogeneous coating, with well-distributed micropores. Glass Xtreme enhances heat resistance of the foam during flame applications of torch-on membranes, especially on thermally insulated flat roofs and roof-gardens. Its formulation has been designed to prevent the creation of blisters, melting, shrinking and collapse of the foam and to improve panel compatibility and adhesion to the waterproofing system.
