Sibur: MoU signed to create Russia's largest PP complex

Russian petrochemical group Sibur (Moscow; www.sibur.ru), Italian engineering company Tecnimont (Milan; www.tecnimont.it) and Russian development bank Vnesheconombank (Moscow; www.veb.ru/en) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build a 500,000 t/y PP complex in Tobolsk, Tyumen / Russia. The cost of the project, which will create the largest PP facility in the country, is estimated at USD 2 bn.


Tecnimont is acting as Sibur's contractor for the design, equipment supply and construction management of one of the two units of the new complex. During its construction stage the project will create up to 4,500 jobs.
