Should sustainable packaging be "scrapped"?


The phrase sustainable packaging is like the fashion look that never goes out of style—everyone wants to say they use it and aren't shy about touting that.

Well, apparently some in the industry believe that sustainable packaging, as a term, is no longer relevant today.

Financial services firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) recently published a report, "Sustainable Packaging: Myth or Reality." The UK packaging industry is calling for the phrase "sustainable packaging" to be scrapped and is urging instead for the government to focus on "real" issues affecting the industry, according to the report.
