Salavatnefteorgsintez: Start-up of new HDPE line completed

Russian petrochemical company JSC Salavatnefteorgsintez (Salavat, Bashkortostan / Russia; http://eng.snos.ru) says it has begun start-up operations for its 120,000 t/y HDPE plant in Salavat. The group said it invested some RUB 6.3 bn (EUR 1.5 bn) into the 5.4 ha facility capable of producing over 30 different grades of PE simultaneously.

The new facility, the only one in Russia capable of producing suspension-method HDPE, includes polymerisation and purification units, an extrusion building, homogenisation facilities, a storage unit and a line for film production. The site's product portfolio, Salavatnefteorgsintez says, will range from high-quality pipes to ultra-thin packaging film including several by-products that will find usage in polymer plates or road construction.
