SINGAPORE: Shell completes expansion at Pulau Bukom to raise ethylene capacity by 20%

In 2012, Shell identified the project as its "largest-ever petrochemicals investment," which was expected to increase olefins and aromatics capacity "by more than 20%". At the time, the company said it had 800,000 t/y of ethylene, 450,000 t/y of propylene, 750,000 t/y of ethylene glycol, 155,000 t/y of butadiene and 230,000 t/y of benzene capacity.
