A newly developed release agent from Chem-Trend is said to work with all thermoplastics except for polycarbonate, and also serves as a lubricant. PET processors in particular could stand to benefit.
The material is marketed as Lusin Lub O 32 F by Chem-Trend (Howell, MI). It acts as both a release agent and lubricant for thermoplastic processing, notably for the processing of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) preforms and films, thus eliminating the need for multiple products. It is NSF H1 registered and EU (2002/72/EG) certified, making it suitable for use in products subject to food hygiene requirements.
Lusin® Lub O 32 F works as a release agent for all forms of thermoplastics, with the exception of polycarbonate. When used as a lubricant, it minimizes scratching during downstream processes sothat, for example, it can improve the transport efficiency of products such as PET bottles through conveyors. It contains no solvents, silicone or halogens, and can be removed with water. It can be used at temperatures up to 390 °F.
Chem-Trend's portfolio to the thermoplastics industry includes release agents, anti-corrosion agents, mold cleaners, surface cleaners and surface degreasers.
