Laser printing is a highly attractive technique for the straight-to-point functionalization materials. The laser printing system is maintenance-free and solvent-free, offers a high resolution, and the material transfer related to the solid content is significantly higher than in inkjet printing. At the Fraunhofer IGB spherical toner particles are developed by means of suspension polymerization and are to be applied for processing of various functional components. Our toner material is cell-compatible. The toner particles can be synthesized with reactive surfaces for example for coupling reactions before or after the printing process. This reactive surface can also be taken for the combination of different materials and therefore for the creation of three-dimensional structures.
