RUSSIA: Sibur divests Plastik to investors

Plastik has the capacity to produce up to 60,000 t/y of styrene, 11,000 t/y of expandable polystyrene, 23,000 t/y of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, and just over 6,000 t/y of separators and phenolics.

Sibur said the new investors have developed a strategy to further develop the business and grow their petrochemical asset base.

In the medium term, Sibur plans to partner with Plastik for the production of styrene under an ethylbenzene processing agreement.
