Purging compound tackles high-heat engineering grades: PEEK, PEI, PPS and more

05/05/2011

A new glass-filled high-temperature grade of purging compound has a service temperature range of 518°F - 788°F (270°C - 420°C) letting it take on ultra-high-heat engineering resins, like PEEK (polyetheretherketone), PPS (polyphenylene sulfide), Ultem (polyetherimide), and LCP (liquid crystal polymer) and clean out injection molding machines and extruders.

Sun Plastech Inc.'s (Parsippany, NJ) Asaclean PX was specifically designed for thorough cleaning at higher processing temperatures, while emitting low smoke and odor, which can be common occurrences when purging high-heat resins. For hot runner cleaning or machine shutdowns, Asaclean also offers SX Grade, an unfilled grade with a service temperature range of 570°F - 735°F (300°C - 390°C)....
