Plastics to help drive Hyundai to reach 50-mpg goal by 2025


Hyundai Motor America President and CEO John Krafcik first announced the company’s target of a corporate average fuel economy rate of 50 miles per gallon by 2025 at an industry meeting in August.

He’s not only repeating that target now, but also pointing out that it’s not too big of a stretch to imagine. After all, at the Los Angeles auto show on Nov. 18, the company introduced its newest Elantra sedan, which gets a CAFE rating of 44.4 miles per gallon.
