British thermoformer Macpac has acquired one of its domestic competitors, Hamilton Plastic Packaging, for an undisclosed sum. Macpac is keeping Hamilton's sales force and moving the processor's production this month and next to Macpac's recently refurbished facility in Stockport, England.
Both companies operate Illig thermoforming machinery which makes it easy for Macpac to run the Hamlton tooling. Macpac, in a press release, cited its newer machines as an advantage for Hamilton's customers as the new equipment can process better packaging, faster. Macpac recently took delivery of a new RV74c pressure former from Illig (Heilbronn, Germany), the fourth new thermoforming machine brought into service at Macpac in the past two years....
