In mergers and acquisition news in the plastic packaging space, flexible packaging processor and converter Star Packaging, based near Atlanta, Georgia, was acquired by Azalea Capital and then merged with Azalea property Master Packaging Inc. In other news, The Jordan Company completed its previously announced purchase of packaging machinery manufacturer Pro Mach Inc.
Star Packaging specializes in printing, laminating, and conversion of flexible packaging materials, and has its own plastic film extrusion business, Tara Plastics. Master Packaging (Tampa, FL) also is a converter of flexible plastic products such as pouches and bags. The combined entity, Star Packaging Corp., will be headquartered in Atlanta. Mike Wilson, former owner of Star, will remain on the board of the new company.
