Plastic is the material that moves the world. Plastic motivates. Plastic facilitates personal mobility. It’s this quality of the material that’s the focus of the special show at K 2013 in Düsseldorf from 16 to 23 October 2013. Under the motto of “Plastics move the world”, numerous aspects of the general theme of mobility will be presented – from lightweight materials in the design of motor vehicles, aircraft and ships via electromobility through to individual mobility and modern leisure behaviour. The spotlight will be on climate-compatible energy and transport strategies as well as on the changes in the worlds of work and leisure thanks to mobile means of communication.
Using multimedia, with the aid of selected exhibits and in daily rounds of discussions involving experts from science and industry, the event will highlight the contributions made by plastic and rubber to “life on the move”. The presentations will go well beyond a mere account of achievements in the technical and materials sectors.
The special show at K 2013 will again be organised by the German plastics industry under the overall management of PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V. and Messe Düsseldorf. Traditionally, it supplements exhibitors’ presentations with forward-looking themes and underpins K Düsseldorf’s unique position as the trend barometer and innovation forum for the entire industry.
A modern, dynamic image and the slogan “K makes the difference” are the key communication elements publicising the leading trade fair for the international plastics and rubber industry. The invitations to exhibitors will be sent out worldwide at the beginning of 2012; invited to participate are manufacturers of machines and equipment for the plastics and rubber industry, suppliers of raw materials and auxiliaries, producers of semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastics, and service providers. For all companies wishing to participate in K 2013, the closing date for registration is 31 May 2012. Messe Düsseldorf as the organiser again expects a huge response.
In a phase of economic recovery, K 2010 in October last year gave growth in the industry a powerful boost. The 3098 exhibiting companies reported new, exciting customer contacts, a marked willingness to invest and the conclusion of many deals, some of them unplanned. Some 220,000 trade visitors made their way to K 2010 in Düsseldorf.
