The American electrical devices and systems supplier Leviton Mfg. selected Valox iQ resin for the housing of its new portable charger for electric vehicles (EV), thus adding more green to the EV picture. Based on polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), Valox iQ incorporates PCR PET feedstock for a 34%-47% reduction in CO2 and process energy.
"When we created our Evr-Green charging unit, a key requirement was using sustainable materials whenever possible," says Michael Mattei, VP and general manager of Leviton's Commercial/Industrial business unit. "We wanted to be sure our charger not only facilitates adoption of electric cars, but also minimizes environmental impact."
