In 2009, automotive supplier Plastic Omnium (PO, Levallois / France; www.plasticomnium) saw its figures slip to the red for the first time in the group's history. But, following the release of the Q4 figures, the future once again looks bright for the French group, even prompting a raise in profit expectations for the entire year.
Sales increased by 16.6% year-on-year in Q4 2009, reaching EUR 716.3m. This increase was in no small part due to the sales generated by the group's automotive operations, which contributed EUR 593.8m (an increase of 23.7%). All in all, annual sales amounted to EUR 2.46 bn, the group said, which constitutes a year-on-year minus of only 8.8%. The last quarter in particular was crucial in raising the annual average.
