Partnership fosters "green" design of E/E items

Plastics processors whose customers include electronics and electrical goods' OEMs may be interested in a new partnership between global certification company TÜV Rheinland and GreenSoft Technology. The partnership gives TÜV Rheinland access to GreenSoft's environmental compliance data collection service, including its parts database, to provide RoHS and REACH services to its clients.

The companies predict this agreement could lower the cost and speed the certification process for electronics manufacturers seeking to be in compliance with environmental regulations and directives. Processors that source parts may want to use the system, or their customers may demand that processors have their parts catalogued as part of GreenSoft's parts' library.
