Polyurethane processor Thieme is among the dozens of plastics processors who are investing in a stand at this fall's K 2010 tradeshow in hopes of generating new business. For Thieme, the focus will be on its transition last year from a strictly PUR specialist to one able to coordinate injection molding and thermoforming as well.
As we reported here, Thieme (Tenningen, Germany) in 2009 formed a partnership with two smaller firms, thermoformer WKV (Rohrbach) and injection molder Kabo-Plast (Hartheim; both Germany). Together in their "Center for Plastics Technology and Marketing," the three reckon they have a much better chance at landing multi-material and multi-process work.
