OrthoLite Impressions foam is the company's first product that creates customised fitting for every consumer: The material creates initial step-in comfort and then moulds to the shape of the foot as it is worn to create a customised fit system inside the shoe. OrthoLite Impressions replaces the petroleum-based PU with nearly 50 % bio-oil PU through the utilisation of castor oil, a non-food plant source that shows significant ecological advantages in terms of energy and resource consumption. The new product is currently in development with the world's top footwear brands for both insoles and lining foams. OrthoLite Impressions is set to appear in footwear in spring 2012. OrthoLite open cell foam insoles are said to be found in more than 100 million shoes each year including, Asics, New Balance, Merrell, Nike, Puma, Vans and Timberland. The company combines polyurethane and recycled rubber to provide cushioning, comfort, breathability, and durability.
