OMAN: Octal commissions Salalah PET plant, increasing capacity to 1-million t/y

The lines, with 550,000 t/y of capacity, are based on Uhde Inventa-Fischer's energy-efficient Melt-to-Resin technology, which allows for lower operating and maintenance costs than the solid-state post condensation process, while reducing the carbon footprint with a lower investment cost.

Uhde Inventa-Fischer noted: "In combination with the plant built by Uhde Inventa-Fischer at the same site in 2009, Octal Petrochemicals now has one of the world's biggest single-site production capacities.”
