New Voralux polymer is flame retardant free and meets Cal TB 117

This novel design allows for the production of flexible moulded foams that are in compliance with TB 117 without incorporating the use of flame retardants. Voralux HM formulated polyols with HE 140 isocyanate are all flame retardant free. In addition, the new Voralux product family benefits both those using it in their production lines and foam end users, says the company. End users see flammability safety, increased durability, higher comfort, and the option for renewable content. Manufacturers benefit from improved quality and performance, higher processing flexibility, and better efficiency, as well as functionality.Established in 1975, the California furniture flammability standard Technical Bulletin 117 (TB 117) requires polyurethane foam in furniture and baby products to withstand a 12 s exposure to an open flame.
