New Multi-Mono Series Achieves Higher Material-Burst Strength, Protecting and Extending The Life Of Tubing and Hose End Products.

The Guill Multi-Mono range from .030 [0.762 mm]– 3 inches [76.2 mm] diameter and is available in both a crosshead and an inline die for medical tubing, irrigation hoses, automotive fuel lines, pipes, plus more.

Market demand for increased product-burst strength is more important than ever for many newer extrusion applications, which include medical tubing, irrigation hoses, automotive fuel lines, pipes, and more. Guill engineers have taken this problem head on with their newly designed Multi-Mono extrusion tooling line.

According to Bill Conley, Guill’s Technical Sales Manager, two options are available to Multi-Mono users. The first is hose or tubing with greater burst strength using the least amount of material possible, by eliminating the weld lines, while still meeting product requirements. The second option is keeping the same polymer material specifications used previously with Guill’s new Multi-Mono tooling design creating enhanced burst strength as well as a longer lasting product. Both options, Conley emphasizes, achieve considerable cost savings and superior value throughout the life of the extruded product.

The Guill Multi-Mono is available in both a crosshead and an inline die. Typically, the Multi-Mono is engineered to handle .030 [0.762 mm]– 3 inches [76.2 mm] diameter for hose and process tubing. With a unique extrusion tooling patent-pending design, polymer material is extruded in alternating, multiple thin layers. The toughest challenge overcome by Guill’s engineers was eliminating the weld lines associated with the weakness in the polymer material end product or extruded tubing.

Ongoing customer discussions with Guill have confirmed that the outstanding increase in burst strength is the most important benchmark of the advanced Multi-Mono Series. This newly efficient and effective extrusion tooling is also currently being tested for numerous other new end product applications by the company.
