Jim Stobie has been appointed CEO at Macro Engineering & Technology Inc. (Mississauga, ON), filling a new position for the manufacturer of plastic film and sheet extrusion machinery. Stobie was promoted to CEO from his position as VP of sales and marketing. Mirek Planeta, president and founder of Macro, said in a release that Stobie will oversee engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing and services at Macro. Macro created the CEO position to allow Planeta to set aside day-to-day operations of the business and focus on technical R&D efforts. Stobie joined Macro in 1993 and was the sales manager from 1997 to 2006. He rejoined Macro in 2012 after a 6-year stint as VP of sales at Brampton Engineering.
